Police seek witnesses in fatal pedestrian crash in Gardena

Police Tuesday asked for the public's help finding witnesses to a crash that killed a pedestrian in Gardena.

The collision was reported at 10:05 p.m. Sunday in the 1700 block of 135th Street, according to Gardena police Lt. Matthew Hassoldt.

The woman was hit by an Infiniti Q50, whose driver stopped and cooperated with investigators, police said.

"Gardena police officers and medical personnel from the Los Angeles County Fire Department located a female pedestrian in the roadway," according to Hassoldt. "She was declared deceased."

The crash was under investigation by the Gardena Police Department Traffic Bureau.
