Thousands gathered for a May Day rally and march from MacArthur Park to downtown Los Angeles on Friday.
KNX News’ Nataly Tavidian reported that the crowd was made up of residents and members of different unions and groups.
The march moved down Wilshire and onto Broadway before eventually making its way to Grand Park.
One woman in attendance said it’s important for people to be out there rallying.
“I think it's important for us to show our unity, to show that L.A. is not gonna stand down,” she said. “We're a city made of immigrants. We're a city of workers, of street vendors, of teachers, of everyday people who power the city.”
Organizers say they're calling for a pathway to citizenship, increased funding for health care, and an end to funding for ICE.
