Nick McGlashan, fisherman and one of the stars of Discovery’s “Deadliest Catch,” has died on Sunday at the age of 33.

McGlashan died in Nashville on Sunday, reports TMZ. The cause of death is unknown.

McGlashan hails from a long line of seamen and was a seventh-generation fisherman. His great uncle worked on one of the country’s first crabbing boats.

McGlashan started crabbing at 13. He would eventually go on pilot the Cape Caution and later the Summer Bay.

He struggled for years with addiction to alcohol and drugs. McGlashan stepped back from the production of the series’ 13th season to enter rehab.

In August, it was revealed that Mahlon Reyes, a deckhand on the "Deadliest Catch,” died at the age of 38 after a heart attack. Reyes’ wife Heather Sullivan described the ordeal in a post on a memorial Facebook page run by her.

“Deadliest Catch” premiered in 2005. The show has aired for 16 seasons. McGlashan appeared on the series from 2013 to 2020.
