Papa Roach began teasing the new single last week, culminating in a pair of social posts highlighting the "Karen" social media phenomenon.
In both social teases, cringe-worthy interactions were chosen to inject the song's brutal breakdown, where singer Jacoby Shaddix exclaims, "SHUT UUUUUUP!" Listen to the brand new track below...
Back in March, Shaddix told us how the band had close to three-quarters of a new record finished. “We took some time and we rented a house. all together locked in this place for a month,” he explained. “Everybody got COVID tested, nobody left the house for a month... it was music 24 hours a day for a month. This creative process we got lost in… this shut in vibe… it’s like the farther you dig down creatively and discover this piece, it’s like, ‘well, let’s go farther down the rabbit hole.’ That experience for us really uncovered some rad sounds, some great songs, and just overall a good bonding experience for us.”
Papa Roach is about to hit the road alone, and with Breaking Benjamin, making a few stops across the U.S. beginning on September 12 and running through September 25. Get your tickets here.
