
PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Pittsburgh Pirates have released their activity schedule for Monday’s home opener, as well as the schedule for the rest of the week’s games.
PNC Park will open its gates at 11 a.m. for Monday’s home opener and fans are encouraged to get to their seats before 12:30 p.m. to help celebrate the first home game of the 2019 season.
Opening ceremonies include recognizing 1971 World Series hero and Pirates broadcaster Steve Blass, paying tribute to 1960 MVP Dick Groat in a pregame ceremony, presenting Corey Dickerson with the 2018 Rawlings Gold Glove, and a moment of silence for Jose Castillo, Richard “Dick” Cole, Bob Friend, Joe Gibbon, John Hetki, Alberto Lois and Bill O’Dell.
The first pitch will be thrown out by four City of Pittsburgh Police Officers, Officers Timothy Matson, Dan Mead, Anthony Burke and Mike Smijda, in remembrance of the October 27th tragedy at the Tree of Life Synagogue.
