PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Seattle Mariners Pitchers' Justin Dunn and Tommy Milone combine to pitch seven scoreless innings Wednesday night as Seattle defeat the Pittsburgh Pirates 4-1 in game two of the series.

Kevin Newman extended his hitting streak to 12 games with a single to leadoff the top of the third, but Tommy Milone was able to get Bryan Reynolds to flyout to center and Colin Moran to ground into an inning ending double play in his first inning of relief of Mariners Starting Pitcher Justin Dunn.

Dunn was effectively wild in his two innings of work in his second career start in the Major Leagues as he walked three batters, including one to leadoff the bottom of the second, but the Pirates were unable to make him pay for the free nineties he was giving them.

The Mariners were able to add two more runs against Pirates Starting Pitcher Dario Agrazal in the top of the fourth on back to back home runs from Kyle Lewis and Tom Murphy to take the 4-0 lead.

It was a mixed bag of an outing Wednesday night for Agrazal as he retired the Mariners in order in the first and third innings, but in the second and fourth innings Seattle was able to get two runs in each inning off of him.

Agrazal gave up four runs on six hits, walked one and struck out six in his five innings of work on 74 pitches (49 strikes).

Agrazal is not known as a strikeout pitcher, but Wednesday night he had the strikeout pitch working against the Mariners' batters.

Colin Moran and Jose Osuna led off the bottom of the ninth with singles, but Matt McGill got Adam Frazier to flyout to the wall in centerfield where Braden Bishop would make a leaping catch against the wall and Elias Diaz would line out to Bishop as he made another nice leaping catch to keep it from going to the wall.

Kevin Kramer would flyout to left field to end the game and the Pirates were not able to take advantage of having the tying run come to the plate with no outs, one out and two outs in the ninth inning.

The Pirates and Mariners close out this three game series Thursday afternoon as Joe Musgrove (10-12, 4.52 ERA) is expected to take the mound for Pittsburgh against Yusei Kikuchi (6-10, 5.46 ERA) from PNC Park at 12:35 pm.
