Happy Lloyd McClendon Stole First Base Day!
By 937thefan Jun 26, 2019
(93.7 The Fan) - Wednesday is a historic day in Pirates history or rather, an infamous day.
On June 26, 2001 Bucs Manager Lloyd McClendon stole first base after a questionable call from first base umpire Rick Reed.
It appeared that catcher Jason Kendall had an infield hit but was called out.
Frustrated with a previous call that game, after he was Ejected, McClendon took first base and took off into the dugout with it!
McClendon is currently the hitting coach for the Detroit Tigers.
