PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Missing the entire season with a knee injury that shortened last year to five games, safety DeShon Elliott is back on the active roster and is expected to play against the Saints in Paris on Sunday.
Elliott had 108 tackles in 15 games in his first season with the Steelers in 2024 and then 38 tackles in the limited 2025.
“I think the group is really coming together, but he's been a part of that in the meeting rooms,” said Steelers defensive coordinator Patrick Graham. “He's been out there at practice. It will be interesting to see how that goes down in terms of the chemistry and how it flows together, but I think guys have all stepped up in their role.”
“Again, you have a piece missing like that where there's some communication, the physicality. You're seeing young players grow in that role. You're seeing other guys take on more. So, it will be interesting to see. We'll just let it play out, the competition play out. Let everything happen organically, as people say now, and let it play out. But looking forward to it.”
Receivers elevated, not MVS
For another week the Steelers elevated receivers Brandon Johnson and Brandon Smith from the practice squad. They did not elevate Marquez Valdes-Scantling, who returned to the Steelers on Tuesday and had only a couple of practices.
