PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Steelers quarterback Ben Roethlisberger spoke to the media yesterday for the first time since his season-ending elbow injury, and the 38-year-old's remarks have given Pittsburgh sports fans a reason to be excited. Colin Dunlap is no different, as he described on The Fan Morning Show on Wednesday.

While he has seen many different versions of Roethlisberger over his Steelers tenure, Colin says he is excited about this healthy, determined rendition of the 16-year veteran because he is solely focused on winnining championships. Roethlisberger said yesterday that his goal is to win multiple Super Bowls before he retires.

"I don't know how you can't be excited about that," Colin said. "And I don't know how that's not a dangerous thing, Jeff. That's where I am with this. I am excited as can be about Ben right now."

Jeff agrees, and sees the addition of Roethlisberger to an already talented group sets up the Steelers for success this year.

"There's a huge opportunity for this Steelers team based on the defense that they have," Jeff said. "And you add in Eric Ebron, and maybe a healthy Vance McDonald. I see why he's excited and Steelers fans should be too. If Ben's healthy, they got a chance."

Not only is Roethlisberger's elbow fully healed, he is also looking trim. Roethlisberger told the media yesterday that he is at his lowest weight in over a decade.

Entering his 17th season, Roethlisberger is the Steelers franchise all-time leader in passing yards (56,545), passing touchdowns (363) and wins (144). He is a two-time Super Bowl champion and six-time Pro Bowler.
