PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – It will be a day that many local children will never forget.
Sidney Crosby will take the ice with 100 "Little Penguins" on Wednesday afternoon.
The skate will happen at 1:15 p.m. at the UPMC Lemieux Sports Complex, following the Penguins' noon practice.
The "Little Penguins Learn to Play Hockey" program is now in its 12th season, and provides free head-to-toe hockey equipment for 1,500 children between the ages of 4-9.
For a lucky 100 participants, they also received a "golden ticket" when they picked up their equipment, which invited them to come watch Wednesday's Penguins practice and to skate with the Penguins' captain.
Hopefully there will be a lot of these moments captured:

More than 13,000 children from the Pittsburgh area have been introduced to hockey thanks to the "Little Penguins" program.
