PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) -  Our NFL Insider John Clayton joined Andrew Fillopponi and Chris Mueller for his weekly interview on the PM Team to discuss the biggest news of the week in the NFL.

Clayton opened up with his confusion regarding Los Angeles Chargers running back Melvin Gordon's trade demand. He does not see an imediate opportunity to for a deal to get done if it came to that.

"What team is going to step up and pay the big money to do that along with giving up a draft choice? In a league right now, that for the most part, does not like to pay running backs," he said."

Andrew asked John if he thinks Antonio Brown will have a big season and lead the Oakland Raiders to the playoffs at the age of 31. Andrew equates Brown's situation to when Terrell Owens was traded from the San Fransisco 49ers to the Philadelphia Eagles at 31. The Eagles played in the Super Bowl that year.

Clayton believes that many other factors have to go right for the Raiders to make a significant turn around from last year.

"They still have so many holes," he said. "They have holes in the secondary. I do not know how good their offensive line realy is. I know that Pro Football Focus put them at about 28 or 27. They just have too many things they are trying to overcome."

Swtiching to the Steelers, Chris asked if Ben Roethlisberger or Devin Bush was more important to the teams successs this season, already knowing what to expect of Roethlisberger.

Clayton reminded him that it is still a quarterback driven league, but did say that the Steelers filled needs by drafting Bush out of Michigan.

"They moved up and got a Ryan Shazier-type player who I think is going to be a Pro Bowler for many years," Clayton said. "Bush is going to be one of the most valuable guys on defense, but Ben Roethlisberger is going to be the one that drives the team."

The Steelers begin training camp on Friday, July 26th at Saint Vincent College in Latrobe.
