PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Penguins’ defensemen Kris Letang and Chad Ruhwedel and Center Evgeni Malkin were on the ice before the morning skate but none of them will play Friday evening when the Nashville Predators come to PPG Paints Arena.
One player who is expected to return is defenseman Olli Maatta who hasn’t played since February 11 with an upper-body injury.
Maatta said after practice Thursday he knows he’ll be returning to a team that is playing its best hockey of the year.
“We’re playing really good hockey,” said Maatta. “I think we just got to keep that going and I think for me just jump in there and do my thing, probably keep it simple at first just trying to get used the game.”
Before his injury Maatta had 1 goal, 12 points and was a plus 7 in 55 games.
