(93.7 The Fan) The Pittsburgh Penguins have re-assigned forwards Sam Laffery and Antony Angello to the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins.

Lafferty collected six goals and seven assists for 13 points in 46 games with the Penguins this season.

Angello played seven NHL games, recording his first goal against the Toronto Maple Leafs on February 18.

That was Angello’s only point.

Lafferty and Angello are now eligible to play with the WBS Penguins in the American Hockey League’s post season.

The WBS Penguins are currently sixth in the Atlantic Division, two points back of a playoff spot.

This recall comes on the heels of the NHL trade deadline where the organization acquired multiple forwards that will play on the NHL roster.

The Penguins picked up San Jose Shark’s veteran Patrick Marleau for a conditional 2020 third round draft pick.

Dominik Kahun was sent to the Buffalo Sabres for Evan Rodrigues and the return of former Penguin Conor Sheary.

The Penguins also lost forward Andrew Agozzino to the Anaheim Ducks through waivers.
