PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Penguins are struggling to make the playoffs this season, so on the day of the trade deadline you had to have a feeling that general manager Jim Rutherford was going to make a move.
The Penguins reportedly have acquired right-handed defenseman Erik Gudbranson for forward Tanner Pearson.
In 57 games this season Gudbranson has two goals and six assists. He is a minus 27.
Canucks Color Analyst John Garrett says while Gudbranson's wheels leave something to be desired he is "scary tough".
Hagelin was traded to Washington last week.
There are also reports of a second trade for the Penguins, Sportsnet's Chris Johnston reports Florida defenseman Chris Wideman is coming to Pittsburgh in exchange for Jean Sebastian-Dea.
