Pens Foundation To Auction St Patrick's Day Jerseys To Support Efforts Helping Those Affected By COVID-19

Pens Foundation To Auction St Patrick's Day Jersey In Fight Against Coronavirus

The Pittsburgh Penguins Foundation is supporting the efforts of local charitable organizations that are helping people affected by the Coronavirus.

The foundation will auction off St. Patrick's Day jerseys that were originally to be worn by players before the March 15th game against the New York Islanders, but that game never took place since the NHL halted the season due to the COVID-19 outbreak.

“Our green jerseys, which are unique each season, have always been very popular with our fans,” said Jim Britt, executive director of the Penguins Foundation. “We thought that this auction might be one small way that the Penguins, the foundation and our fans can come together to assist our community.”

In addition to the jerseys, autographed hockey pucks will also be up for auction. You can learn more about the auction here.
The auction runs March 17th through March 24th.
