PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - It was all about the draft Monday for the Pirates, getting 4 players in the first two rounds. Their first 2 from high school and later 2 from college.

The first pick is Illinois righty starter Quinn Priester, who is a self-described, self-learner by watching pitchers on You Tube.  MLB Network's Jim Callis says he is impressed.

"He does hit 97 (mph)," said Callis on the MLB Network. "Scouts will tell you, he has so much movement on his . . . 2-seam fastball at 92, 93 (mph) that they think it's almost a better pitch . . . the curve is really good, so athletic, the delivery works well. I just think this guy has a huge ceiling."

Priester is committed to TCU and played football as well in high school.
