PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - The Dodgers are interested in Pirates closer Felipe Vazquez, that’s according to a new report.

MLB.com’s John Paul Morosi reports, according to a source, the Dodgers have the “organizational depth and urgency to acquire” the Pirates left-handed flame-thrower.

He says the Pirates would most likely want catcher Keibert Ruiz as any part of a deal to send Vazquez to L.A.

Ruiz, currently playing for the Dodgers’ Double-A affiliate has a .649 OPS so far this season.

Would expect #Pirates to ask #Dodgers for catcher Keibert Ruiz in any talks for Felipe Vázquez. Ruiz, 20, has a .649 OPS at Double-A this season; he could address Pittsburgh's long-term catching need with Francisco Cervelli becoming a free agent after this year. @MLB @MLBNetwork

The 27-year-old Vazquez has a 1.91 ERA over 33 innings with 19 saves.

He’s under contract with the Pirates for the next two seasons and there is a $10 million club option in 2022 and 2023.
