PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) - Sidney Crosby's hot streak is being rewarded again for the second time in three weeks.
The Penguins captain has been named the NHL's Third Star for the Week after he tied for the most points in the league with eight (3 goals and 5 assists).
He was named the Third Star back on February 18.
Since the beginning of February, Crosby is the second-leading scorer in the NHL with 25 points. Nikita Kucherov of the Tampa Bay Lightning is the only player with more points since February 1.
Crosby has 83 points on the season, tied for 4th in the NHL.
Crosby currently has 1,199 career points. Only Mario Lemieux has more with 1,723.
This is the fourth time this season Croby has been named a Star of the Week. In addition to his two Third Star honors, he was named the First Star twice: the final week in October and after being named the MVP of the All-Star Game in San Jose.
