PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) – The final unsigned Steelers draft pick inked his entry level contract Thursday afternoon. Third round pick Justin Layne agreed to a four year deal.
Layne was the 83rd overall pick in this year’s NFL Draft. The 6’2” corner was a three-year starter at Michigan State and second team All-Big Ten in 2018.
The Cleveland native, who grew up a Browns fan, had 130 tackles, three interceptions, 24 passes defended, 4.5 tackles for loss and a half a sack in his college career.
“It’s great,” Layne said of getting used to being a Steeler. “It was crazy at first. The first couple of days it was like ‘oh shoot’. But we are just working now, they are regular people now. Just like back in college.”
