PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) – He was to be the ace of the Pirates staff this year and made only 7 starts before leaving with elbow pain. Now, Jameson Taillon won't only miss the rest of this year, but all of next season.
The Pirates announcing Wednesday afternoon that the 27-year-old righty will have Tommy John surgery for a second time in his career, ending thoughts for a comeback next year.
A first round pick of the Bucs in 2010, Taillon has made 82 career starts with 29 wins and a 3.67 ERA. Taillon is coming off career highs in wins, innings and strikeouts last season.
