According to a report, the Penguins are interviewing former Flyers goalie and later General Manager Ron Hextall Thursday

TSN hockey insider Darren Dreger says that it will be a virtual interview.

Hextall spent 13 of his 11 seasons as a player with Philadelphia.

After retiring, Hextall joined the Flyers organization as a scout in 1999.

He then later took a job with the Los Angeles Kings as the organization's vice president and assistant general manager, a position that also saw him overseeing the Kings' AHL affiliate Manchester Monarchs.

Hextall won a Stanley Cup in L.A. before going back to Philadelphia to became the Flyers assistant general manager and director of hockey operations, before becoming the team's general manager in 2014.

He was fired in November 2018 and has since worked as an advisor for the Kings in their Hockey operations department.
