Brandon Lowe is having a career year in his first season with the Pirates. Should the Pirates consider dealing him at the deadline if they fall out of contention? The Astros just traded Lance McCullers, and did not get anything in return that will help them this year. The Astros are also closer to a playoff spot than the Pirates are.
The Pirates have re-ordered part of their rotation for the second half of the season. Because Skenes and Ashcraft had the whole All-Star break to rest, they’ll jump up in the rotation and it will be Jones-Ashcraft-Skenes to open up the 2nd half of the season.
Mike Florio from Pro Football Talk joined the show. Lamar Jackson was voted in the 60s on the NFL top 100 list. Mike says that this is because of how bad the voting process is for the NFL Top 100. Florio says that Art Rooney is open to making the field turf, as opposed to grass. He also says that it is possible that all fields are eventually turf. Mike says that it is way cheaper to make the fields turf instead of grass, which is why the owners are so adamant about the change.
