Are Steelers fans turning on Kaden Wetjen or the idea that they used a 4th round pick on the guy? Outside of a punt return TD in the 4th quarter of the preseason finale, he has done nothing to write home about. The coach and QB haven’t mentioned his name as the team continues to have WR issues and injuries.
93.7 The Fan Sports Director Jeff Hathhorn joined the show. Kaden Wetjen has been of little use in the return game, which appears to be the sole reason the team drafted him. But due to their injuries at WR, will the rookie get a chance to show something in the offense? Jeff thinks the Steelers will have no choice but to utilize their TEs more and showcase more 12 & 13-personnel. Jeff isn’t sure why Eli Heidenreich isn’t getting a helmet when he has actual chops at receiver. Will DeShon Elliott or Jamel Dean play on Sunday and if so, how much? Jeff can’t see any scenario the Steelers trade Patrick Queen unless they lose every game leading up to the trade deadline. Jeff told the guys that Elandon Roberts had a family matter to attend to around the start of the season and isn’t sure if he would have been available even if he would have made the 53-man.
