Over the last several weeks amid the Patriots’ 2-9 start to the 2023 season, there have been multiple, prominent, national media members who’ve speculated that head coach Bill Belichick’s time in New England may be up.

In fact, two pundits in Pro Football Talk’s Mike Florio and ESPN’s Dan Orlovsky have suggested that not only are the pieces are already being put in place for a move elsewhere, and that said destination has already been picked out.

Following the Patriots’ 10-7 loss to the Giants on Sunday, Belichick himself was asked about the above rumors on Monday’s edition of WEEI’s The Greg Hill Show. He gave a brief answer.

“Yeah, that’s ridiculous.”

The head coach was then asked if he could see himself coaching anywhere other than New England in his career:

“Just trying to do the best job I can right now. Obviously, I need to do better.”

“I don’t worry about what everybody else is saying,” Belichick said when asked if the outside noise about his ability as a head coach frustrates him. “I’ve heard good, I’ve heard bad. I don’t really care.”

Belichick also spoke about his decision to start Mac Jones at quarterback on Sunday, Chad Ryland’s missed kick at the end of the game, and more on Monday’s edition of WEEI’s The Greg Hill Show. You can listen to the full interview here.
