Steelers Hall of Fame Running Back Jerome Bettis has announced he has tested positive for COVID-19.

In a post on social media, "The Bus" told his followers that he is "currently in isolation as home."

He adds, "Fortunately, I am blessed that my symptoms are very mild because I am vaccinated."

Bettis is also taking the opportunity to encourage everyone "to continue to wear masks, practice social distancing, and get vaccinated."

While there are "breakthrough" cases (vaccinated people testing positive), those that have are mainly experiencing mild to no symptoms.

A majority of the new COVID cases and hospitalizations are in those who are unvaccinated.

The Delta variant of COVID now accounts for over 80 percent of new cases in the United States and experts say is 50 percent more contagious than the original strain that prompted lockdowns in early 2020.
