Considering Alvin Kamara has found the end zone 44 times in just 49 career games, several defenders have probably experienced watching the Saints' star sprint past them en route to a touchdown, flashing a smile as he does so. And in the process, these defenders have probably noticed that the smile doesn't just show his white teeth.
No, instead we've all gotten used to a much shinier gleam that emanates from Kamara's helmet.
How many diamonds are in there? Who knows -- not Kamara, at least not when he's impersonating a reporter.
And he's still rocking the grill this year. Former wide receiver Mike Wallace even made the comparison to a rapper known for his hard-to-ignore teeth decor.
How much is it worth? That's another question we don't have a definitive answer to, but we do know the minimum value, thanks to Kamara's teammate. In the latest episode of the "Green Light with Chris Long" podcast, the former defensive end invited current Saints defensive end Cam Jordan to discuss a variety of topics.
At the very end of the interview, Kamara's grill became the subject of discussion.
"How much money would you say is invested inside of Alvin Kamara's mouth at any given moment?" co-host Macon Gunter asked, with Long doubling down on his curiosity of just how much the grill is worth.
"Look, I feel like my grill and his grill don't shine the same," Jordan said. "I don't know, I know what I spend... my bottom is nice, but he's got bottoms and tops."
But Long, who said he's "not in the grill market," wanted to get more specific and asked Jordan if it exceeded $10,000.
"Oh, easily," Jordan said. "Easily, easily multiple tens.
"He'll pop 'em in if he's going out or something. He'll pop 'em in for practice every now and again. But it's always gonna be there Sunday."
Multiple tens of thousands of dollars? Wow. It's no wonder his impending contract situation was such a big deal leading up to the season.
All joking aside, his five-year, $75 million extension is paying off early on. There may not be a more electrifying offensive player in the entire NFL right now than Kamara, especially considering the Saints offense has still been able to churn out points while Michael Thomas has been out. Without Kamara running the show? Doesn't seem likely that they'd still be finding the same success.
We'll see if the extension results in an upgraded grill -- if that's even possible at this point.
