Former Steelers Quarterback Charlie Batch's 4th of July tweet about fireworks is getting a lot of attention.
Batch suggested there should be a curfew to prevent fireworks from going off into the wee hours of the morning:
“Whenever you have the Fourth of July that falls in the middle of the week, people have to work, be courteous and you don’t have neighbors who are courteous,” Batch said on brother station NewsRadio KDKA’s Big K Morning Show.
Batch says he doesn’t have anything against fireworks, but “It was very unfair for me to hear something after 10:30, 11 o’clock and in some cases, 1 a.m. in the morning.
Some people aren’t celebrating, they’re just being funny.”
According to Pittsburgh's Fireworks Task Force, from June 30 through July 4, fireworks are allowed to be used until 1 a.m., but after July 4, municipalities can restrict the use of fireworks to stop being lit after 10 p.m.
