Tell me if you’ve heard this one before.
Chase Claypool doesn’t believe he is being used properly.
Asked on Friday if he is being used correctly by the Chicago Bears “to show the best that he can do”, the wide receiver replied “no.”
It was reported earlier this month that Claypool may be “shipped out” of Chicago if his effort doesn’t improve.
He’s been criticized since the summer for what some were calling a lack of effort.
Claypool was traded by the Steeler to Chicago for the 2nd round pick that would become Joey Porter Jr. last year.
Here’s what he said about the Steeler after the trade last year.
“I’m a play-maker and I’m excited to make plays,” Claypool said. “I feel like I didn’t have the full opportunity to show what I can do this year. I think I’ve been able to show that in the past. I’m excited to be able to gain that trust with Justin (Fields) where he knows if he needs a play he can come to me.”
Notice a pattern?
Claypool has started in two games for the Bears this season, playing in three.
He has 18 catches for 191 yards and one touchdown.
