The Homewood community sports organization needs help after their storage shed was ransacked.

Coach Mubarik Ismaeli of the Homewood Bulldawgs recently posted a photo of the shed that held football, baseball and track equipment.

Coach Mu tells The Fan Morning Show the equipment was taken during the pandemic, since the program was shut down last season.

The Homewood Community Sports is more than just football. In addition to football and cheerleading, they also coach ruby, track and field boxing, wrestling and more for nearly 400 children in the area.

Coach says he was hesitant to share the information but decided it was best for the kids and would also hopefully put a spotlight on whoever stole the equipment.

Coach Mu adds the football field is a safe place for children where they are mentored.

The kids also have a lot of fun on the field with amazing entrances on the field and hype videos filmed for them.

“It’s fun and we want these kids to have a good time because some home situations aren’t so fun and when they come to the field you know that’s a place . . . a safe haven where they can feel comfortable, they can have fun and they can enjoy being kids because some of these kids have to move like their adults, they have to take care of themselves,” said Coach Mu.

Coach Mu also says they aren’t the only program. Other communities like Clairton, Lawrenceville, Monessen and Hazelwood have their own programs and he encourages anyone who wants to support those programs to please do so.

The good news is the donations are coming in to the program and Pitt defensive coordinator Randy Bates made a donation to the program inviting Coach Mu to the Panthers facilities on Tuesday.

“It’s s save haven, so it’s more than just football you know these programs we really teach these kids and we try to steer them in the right way,” said Coach Mu.
