PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – As Bob Huggins continues to insist he’s still the West Virginia men’s basketball coach and never personally resigned the position, the Mountaineers continue to push forward.

Interim men’s basketball head coach Josh Eilert announced the signing of his first player for the coming season. 6’5”, 185-pound Jeremiah Bembry comes to the WVU after a redshirt season with Florida State in 2022-23.

“I love the versatility and the size that Jeremiah will bring to the point guard position,” Eilert said in a statement released by the university. “He’s an outstanding ball handler who can lead the break, penetrate and shoot. He’s a very athletic, left-handed guard who will fit in well into our defensive schemes with his tremendous length. Jeremiah is a high character student-athlete who comes from a great family. We are excited to have him join our Mountaineer basketball program.”

Bembry is originally from Brooklyn, but finished his final two years of high school at the Executive Education Academy in Allentown.

As Huggins now claims West Virginia and President E. Gordon Gee sent out a false, unsigned statement about his resignation, the WVU basketball program takes another step moving on without him.
