With the pandemic affecting the revenue of NHL teams, the league announced late last month that advertisements will be allowed on player’s helmets during the 2021 season to help recoup some losses with fans not allowed in the stands at many arenas.

The Pittsburgh Penguins announced their partner on Monday as PPG, fitting, since they play at PPG Paints Arena.

The logo will appear on both the left and right sides of the helmet for all home and away games as well as any playoff games.

"We are proud to showcase PPG on our helmets as the first corporate partner on Penguins' game equipment," said David Morehouse, president and CEO of the team. "It's exciting to expand our long-term partnership with PPG, an iconic Pittsburgh company, by providing additional exposure to millions of fans, viewers and social media followers across the world - especially during our games at PPG Paints Arena."
