The Penguins next two games (Tuesday and Thursday) against the New Jersey Devils is being postponed due to coronavirus concerns.

NHL will reschedule games for later in the season because of COVID issues within the Devils' organization.

The next scheduled game for the Penguins is not until Saturday when they play the Islanders in New York.

Tuesday's game at home against the Devils was the first scheduled back-to-back game of the season, with the Penguins playing in New York against the Rangers Monday night.

While the health and safety for everyone within the Devils' organization is top priority, it will give the Penguins some much needed rest with a battered and bruised defense.  Extra practice time also is a rarity this year and with the changes to the back-lines, this could come at a perfect time.

Defenseman Kris Letang is "day-today" with a lower body injury.

Fellow defenseman Mike Matheson, Juuso Riikola, Marcus Petterson, and Brian Dumoulin are all on the team's injuries list.
