PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – As the Penn State semester starts, the announcement of four transfer football players, three from other Power 5 schools.
Three defensive players and a senior running back.
Defensive back Johnny Dixon (6’, 183 pounds, Tampa, FLA) is a sophomore out of the University of South Carolina, starting eight games for the Gamecocks this year with five pass breakups. He was also named SEC First-Year Academic Honor Roll as a freshman.
Defensive end Arnold Ebiketie (6’3”, 238 pounds, Silver Spring, MD) is a redshirt junior out of Temple who was All-AAC second team this season. Ebiketie led Temple in tackles for loss, sacks and forced fumbles with three. He was also an academic honoree by the conference.
Defensive tackle Derrick Tangelo (6’2”, 290 pounds, Gaithersburg, MD) is a senior from Duke. Started 27 of the 45 career games he played for the Blue Devils with 12 career tackles for loss, 4.5 sacks and 5 forced fumbles.
Running back John Lovett (6’, 205 pounds, Burlington, NJ) is a senior from Baylor. Lovett is top 16 in rushing yards (1,803 yards) and yards per attempt (5.07) in Bears history. Lovett appeared in only five games in 2020-missing three due to injury . He had 45 attempts for 130 yards with nine receptions for 49 yards and a pair of total touchdowns.
