PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Starting off ACC play with a win at Miami, riding a five-game winning streak, Pitt dealt the blow of now being without its top scorers after each suffered leg injuries in practice over the weekend.

Justin Champagnie and Au’Diese Toney are out for an undetermined amount of time, but we know its expected to be longer for Champagnie, the ACC’s leading rebounder.  He is the only ACC player in double figures with 12.3 rebounds also averaging nearly 18 points a game.  The sophomore from Brooklyn also joined rare-air in NCAA history with back-to-back 20 point, 20 rebound games.

Toney is day-to-day with a right ankle injury, averaging 16.2 points and 5 rebounds per game and shooting 53% from the floor.  He’s also arguably their best defender and described by head coach Jeff Capel as their “glue guy”.

Capel is missing at least Tuesday night’s Louisville game after testing positive for COVID-19.
