PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Not playing a game, Pitt football moved up in the AP Top 25 poll. The latest poll released on Sunday as the Panthers return from a bye week to host Syracuse on Thursday night.

The 6-0 Panthers are 19th, up one spot from last week sandwiched between 5-2 Ole Miss at 18 and 6-1 Illinois at 20. The only unbeaten teams ranked lower than Pitt are 7-0 Army, 23rd and 6-0 Navy at 24. The Panthers are one of four ACC teams (Miami-6, Clemson-9, SMU-22).

“You know, nothing shocks me,” Narduzzi said of the turnaround from a 3-win season in 2023 to now. “We could have been sitting here last October 18th and been 6-0 as well, in my mind, because you're always positive, and I loved our kids last year. But this team has just got a different resilience.

“And you love the team week by week by what they do. You kind of go, wow, you did it again. Oh, you did it again.
You came back, you hung in there.”

“So it's every week it's how they play, how they respond through the adversity and even the successes they've had. But that's in the past, and we're working on -- I'm not surprised. I'm never surprised at anything in this world, but we need to respond. And we had three great days of practice and preparation already, and we'll get back up on Sunday and have another one then and Monday, Tuesday and get ready for the game.”
