PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Panthers basketball lost another player today. Sophomore guard Gerald Drumgoole, Jr. has entered the NCAA Transfer Portal. While redshirt sophomore guard Ithiel Horton says despite rumors, he will stay.

Horton started 18 of the 22 games he played averaging 26.8 minutes, 8.9 points, 2.3 rebounds, 1.6 assists. It was Horton's first season at Pitt after sitting out a year following a transfer from the University of Delaware.

Drumgoole played in only 9 games this season scoring 17 points and grabbing 31 rebounds in 48 minutes.

The New York native started a pair of games in 2019-20, averaging 1.2 points and 1.1 rebounds in 8.9 minutes.

"Gerald has been an outstanding teammate and an important member of our program over the past two seasons," said Pitt head coach Jeff Capel in a statement. "We are grateful for his commitment to the Pitt Basketball program and supportive of his desire to seek other opportunities to continue to grow as a player. Gerald has a bright future and we wish him nothing but the best on and off the court."

Drumgoole becomes the third player to transfer from the Pitt program this year joining Xavier Johnson and Au'Diese Toney.
