
It’s official, Pitt Men’s Basketball’s top star Justin Champagnie is entering the NBA Draft.
Champagnie’s agent Todd Ramasar confirmed to ESPN that he will keep his name in the 2021 NBA Draft after announcing in March he would be testing the draft process.
"Excited to see your development continue in the league. Always a Panther," was posted by the Pitt Men's Basketball Twitter account.
Champagnie was named the first Panther to be named to the First Team All-ACC status., he was also an AP Honorable Mention All-America.
The sophomore averaged 18.0 points, 11.1 rebounds, 1.6 assists and 1.2 steals per game during the 2020-21 season.
Champagnie was also a double-double machine with 14, becoming the first Pitt player to average one for the season since DeJuan Blair did in 2008-09.
Pitt Athletics also says Champagnie was the first player to average better than 18 points and 10 rebounds a game since Billy Knight did it in 1974.
Champagnie posted a goodbye message to fans on Twitter on Monday morning.
