PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Pitt senior defensive end Rashad Weaver became the 93rd First Team AP All-American in Pitt history on Monday. The Panthers other defensive end, Patrick Jones, was on the second team.

Weaver had 14.5 tackles for loss, 7.5 sacks, three forced fumbles and a fumble recovery in 2020.  The Florida native led the ACC in TFLs.  Aaron Donald was the last Panthers first team All-American back in 2013

Jones wasn’t far behind with 13 tackles for loss, 9 sacks and a fumble recovery.  The Virginia native led the ACC in sacks and was fourth nationally.

Both will play in the Reese’s Senior Bowl on January 30 in Alabama.

The Associated Press is the first of five groups that will name All-American teams over the next week and a half.
