Former Pitt standout Jaylen Twyman has been waived by the Minnesota Vikings with a non-football injury.

Twyman was shot four times last month in Washington D.C.

He is expected to make a full recovery but is not ready for any football activities.

In a statement, the Vikings say that if Twyman clears waivers he will go on their reserve/ NFI list.

Twyman’s agent Drew Rosenhaus said the defensive tackle was “an innocent bystander,”

Twyman, who opted out of the 2020 season at Pitt, was selected in the 6th round of this past April’s draft by the Minnesota Vikings.

During two years at Pitt, Twyman recorded 57 total tackles and 11 sacks with two passes defended.

Wide receiver Dede Westbrook takes Twyman’s spot on the Vikings roster.
