PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – A scare for one of the keys to the Pens future. Late in the first period in a game against the Kings, 18-year-old forward Ben Kindel was hammered into the boards by Los Angeles defenseman Brandt Clarke at mid-ice as his hip and head took the brunt of the force. After taking a few seconds to try to skate it off, Kindel headed for the locker room.

The rookie was able to return during the Pens first power play of the second period.

Kindel had recently moved from center to a top line winger due to the injury to Rickard Rakell. He had a pair of assists Tuesday including a perfect pass to Sidney Crosby for the first goal of the game. The game previous, Kindel had his first multi-goal game with a pair at Toronto. Overall in 14 games, five goals and two assists.

Sunday also marked the NHL debut of 21-year-old goal Sergei Murashov who had a 10-game winning streak in the AHL and previously had a 13-game winning streak in the ECHL.
