PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) – Once again in his career, Pens captain Sidney Crosby has been named one of the NHL’s ‘Stars of the Week’.

In four games last week, in which the Pens went 3-0-1, Crosby had a pair of goals and five assists and named the league’s number two star. It’s the third time this season he’s been honored as one of the top three.

Crosby leads the Pens in goals (29) and assists (51), so of course his 80 points would also be number one in 66 games. The 35-year-old Crosby is tied for 11th in the NHL in scoring a point ahead of Colorado’s Nathan MacKinnon, Tampa’s Brayden Point and the Devils Jack Hughes.

Leading the Islanders by two points for the top Wild Card spot, the Pens are home to Montreal Tuesday night before back-to-back road games at the Rangers Thursday and Saturday.  New York leads the Pens by six points for third in the Metropolitan Division.
