Drake is one of the most popular performers in the world, but when it comes to Pittsburgh, our sports icons are always going to come first.
According to two Penguins beat writers, Josh Yohe of The Athletic and Nick Horwat of The Hockey News, Drake and his entourage were not happy they couldn’t get the hotel rooms they wanted.
Yohe says rooms at the Fairmont were already booked by Jaromir Jagr and his party.
Jagr was in attendance at PPG Paints Arena on Sunday to have his number retired. He arrived in Pittsburgh several days before for other events leading up to the ceremony and was at the Penguins game on Tuesday evening.
“I was told something similar over the weekend. Icon,” Horwat said echoing Yohe’s report.
