Evgeni Malkin successfully undergoes knee surgery

PITTSBURGH (93.7 The Fan) — The Pittsburgh Penguins announced Friday that Evgeni Malkin went under the knife recently.

Malkin had surgery on his right knee, which he had injured earlier in the year during the regular season.

The Penguins mentioned that the surgery was a success, though, and that Malkin isn’t expected to be ready to go for training camp later this year.

The Penguins went on to say that the time frame for Malkin’s recovery will be better defined once the hockey season is closer to starting.
