Key forwards like Sidney Crosby and Evgeni Malkin are among those out along with young sniper Jake Guentzel.
After testing positive, but asymptomatic, for COVID-19, Guentzel has been cleared to play and will be in the lineup for Thursday night against the Florida Panthers.
Guentzel's return was announced by head coach Mike Sullivan during a pregame press conference.
Thursday night will be Guentzel's 300th career game in the NHL.
