Jarry to start, Rust game-time decision and other updates from morning skate

Tristan Jarry

PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) Another Saturday night game is upon the Pittsburgh Penguins, and they will attack it with much of the same lineup as Thursday.

According to assistant coach Todd Reirden, who is assuming head coaching duties while Mike Sullivan is sidelined in COVID protocol, there has been no movement on the status of personnel also in the protocol.

Players who remain in COVID protocol with Sullivan are Sidney Crosby, Marcus Pettersson, Chad Ruhwedel, and Brian Dumoulin.

Reirden did say that there could be some help on the horizon.

Bryan Rust who has missed the last seven games with a lower-body injury has been listed as a game-time decision.

When Sullivan says "game-time decision" that usually means that player is ready to go, hopefully it's the same pattern with Reirden.

Reirden also said that Tristan Jarry will start in goal for the Penguins.
