PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) Despite suffering their first regulation loss of the season, the Pittsburgh Penguins were in a cheery mood in the following day’s practice.

Along with the upbeat mood came a few moments that the internet enjoyed.

There was the new mask design for backup goalie Casey DeSmith, designed by Teddy Blueger.

Then there was the currently injured Evgeni Malkin briefly interrupting a Chad Ruhwedel presser.

The moment was brief and completely unnoticed by Ruhwedel who continued to answer his question.

Malkin realized what he was doing, however, and gave a sneaky wave to the whole media room who clearly saw the door crack open.

It’s always fun seeing the serious athletes have moments of lightheartedness, and Malkin is always one to supply those moments.
