Boston Bruins forward Brad Marchand has been disciplined for punching and poking his stick at Penguins goalie Tristian Jarry, but if it was up to Evgeni Malkin’s wife the punishment would’ve been a bit different.

Posting on Instagram, Anna Kasterova wrote (translated from Russian), “Five disqualification matches 10 hours of meditations of loving kindness.”

Essentially Kasterova says Marchand needs to serve some time for his dirty hit and have to take meditation class.

This is Marchand’s second suspension of the 2021-22 NHL season; He was previously suspended three games for a slew- foot in late November.

Prior to the incident Tuesday night, Marchand has been given seven suspensions and fined five times for his antics on the ice.

For comparison, Capitals serial offender Tom Wilson has been suspended six times.

Malkin did not play against the Bruins due to being in the NHL’s COVID protocol and will also miss Thursday’s game against the Ottaway Senators.

His next game is expected to be Sunday afternoon in New Jersey against the Devils.
