The NHL has released a rending for the 2023 Winter Classic between the Pittsburgh Penguins and Boston Bruins at historic Fenway Park in Boston, Massachusetts.
The game is set to take place on January 2nd and start a 2:00 p.m. EST outside, under the Fenway lights.

This marks the first Winter Classic at Fenway Park since 2010. The rink is set to parallel one of the most iconic sports landmarks, the Green Monster. This is a first for the NHL when they host at a baseball park venue, as they’ve always traditionally had rinks span between first and third base
They are also implementing an “Ice Diamond” in between the monster and the rink which will feature dugouts for both the Panthers and Bruins with a face off circle in the middle instead of a pitcher’s mound.
The baseball shaped rink is going to feature local youth hockey teams, baseball activities, and appearances from Boston sports legends throughout the game.
Also featured will be two stages in the outfield that will host musical performances throughout the game. The NHL has yet to release the musician lineup.
Fans will also have a chance to attend the NHL Winter Classic Plaza, a free two-day event open to the public at the Boston City Hall Plaza on the 30th and 31st of December.
