PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) Today, Saturday July 17, 2021 is an important day in the NHL.
At 4:00 p.m. NHL teams will be hit with a roster freeze that will last for almost a week, until the 22nd.
The freeze is in place because protection lists are due at 5:00 p.m. for the Seattle Kraken Expansion Draft.
There has been a lot of debate the past week over which players the Pittsburgh Penguins will protect and leave exposed.
That all comes to a head today at 5:00 p.m. when the lists are due and the names are set in stone.
Who will the Penguins protect? We’ll just have to wait and see.
