PITTSBURGH (93.7 the Fan) To say the 2022-23 Pittsburgh Penguins will bring a veteran presence would be an understatement.

As of right now, the average age of players on the Penguins roster in a clean 30-years-old.
The Penguins are the only team in the NHL whose average age starts with a 3 and are the oldest team in the league.
Re-signing Evgeni Malkin and Kris Letang (both 35) are big factors into the number as well as trading for Jeff Petry (34) and signing Jan Rutta (31).
Bryan Rust was also re-signed by the Penguins and it’s often forgot that he recently turned 30-years-old.
There’s also 37-year-old Jeff Carter.
This number is likely to rise as Casey DeSmith, Rutta, Malkin, and Sidney Crosby are all still due for a birthday before September.
The Penguins take the crown as the league's oldest team from rival Washington Capitals.
